Smokingroove have been pioneers of the UK House scene for nearly 15 years with their ‘Underground House Music Movement’ club-nights, Radio shows and tracks. They’ve built-up a solid global following based on their many years of experience tearing up dancefloors in some of the world’s finest locations, providing the world with a little bit of the old Smokingroove magic.
Along the way, Smokingroove have held down key residencies and performed in some of London’s most prestigious, memorable clubs and promotions including:
• Ministry of Sound (London)
• Turnmills (London)
• El-Divino (Ibiza)
• Miss Moneypennys (worldwide)
• Ibiza Rocks Hotel (Ibiza)
• DirtyDubbin (various Locations)
• Heaven (London)
• Scala (London)
• Sneaks Beats @ El-Divino (Ibiza) with DJ Sneak
• Egg (London) with Mutiny
• Nokia & Timeout Magazine Party with Kenny Dope Gonzalez
• And the list goes on...
As well as a lengthy career on the airwaves, Smokingroove has spent the last few years working hard at mastering their sound of ghetto style Chicago/jackin House with a range of House-music Masterpieces and releases on Illuminati Records, Mixtura Records and releases on Pacha/Moneypennys Music. In 2008 Smokingroove made appearances on two very influential album compilations: (Om Dubai and Miss Moneypennys ‘A taste of Ibiza 2008’ compilation).
More recently Smokingroove have been charted by kingpin producer ‘Mark Farina’ (Om Records), charted #25 in the www.stompy.com top 100 download charts in May 09 and have been given props by the infamous ‘DJ Sneak’ in a recent interview for ‘keeping it real’ in London & Dubai with their popular podcast sessions which reached an all time high in 2008 with over 25,000 downloads across 19 countries via iTunes alone.
With all this in mind, the SG boys have been bouncing between London, Ibiza, Dubai, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, India, and Latvia promoting their sound and spinning to the masses in the clubs.
