SHADE

On a Friday night, after listening by chance to a mix by Laurent Garnier on French Radio Nova, he decided to give up his philosophie and literature studies at La Sorbonne to exclusively dedicate himself to électronic music. Shade has embraced electronic music as a personal frontier. Some artists such as Derrick May, Carl Craig, Larry Heard; Ront Trent, Derrick Carter or Moodyman have led him to find his own musical style. He has permanently settled on a sexy deep house inspired by the sound of Detroit, San Francisco and Chicago.

From Snowtronix 2000 to the Jazz Festival of Nancy, from the Futuria party at Zenith to the Rex Club in Paris, Shade has joined in all the biggest French events. He has also been given residencies in La Mezzanine de l’Alcazar , in the Kwality Afters of Batofar together with Dan Ghenacia, Chloé and Ivan Smagghe, as well as in parties such as Perfect in la Fabrique and Superstars in the Queen by the side of Luke Solomon or Kenny Hawkes.
At 20 years old, he signed for Pschent Label and mixed the CD 2 of the first compilation « La Mezzanine de l’Alcazar » (65.000 copies sold). At the time, he also started to discover the European stages. Abroad, he ended up behind the tables of the Lounge Club in Belgium where he has played and invited many international guests (Faze Action, ¨Pacman, Dj Deep...)and toured in the Czech Republic.

In 2002, he became the resident Dj of the parties « It’s About… » at the Rex Club Paris once a month with Charles Schillings. He performed at the Closing party of Midem 2002/2003/2004 in Cannes (with Frankie Knuckles, Satoshi Tomiie and many more) , at the Divino and Space -Ibiza, at the official party of the french Gay Pride 2002 with Little Louie Vega. He also regularly plays in Tokyo (La Fabrique, Yellow, Lounge’o) London (The End) or in Jet Set club in Moscow & St Petersburg. French Max magazine has chosen him to appear among « the 50 most stylish guys of Paris ». Moreover, Levi’s has asked him to represent the brand in an adventiste campaign seen in all the Levi’s stores.

After one month spent on a tour in Japan, he launched his first 12 ‘’ with Dj :Terry (2020 Vision/Highgrade) and released in 2003 at the the same time a new mixed cd “overground house 05” with Charles Schillings
His productions and mixes give him the oportunity to play as guest is worlds’ famous clubs like at the Space Ibiza by the side of Carl Cox for the 2003 opening party! He also regulary plays in special events for famous brands as Gucci, Bulgari or Hugo Boss in Asia.

In 2004 he became label manager of Polyphonics recordings, his own imprint.where artists like John Tejada , Schmoov, Elmar Schubert, Jimpster, Pedro Cali, Spirit Catcher, Shawn Ward, Paulo Rocha , An2, Vernon, Julian Sanza and many more produced many ep’s. Polyphonics is supported by worldwide top dj’s like Laurent Garnier, Ralph Lawson, Sasse, Dirt Crew, Dixon, Satoshi Tomie…

He is now working on productions as Shade or under various pseudonyms like Satin Dealers. He signed 3 new tracks on Pschent record on the very begining of 2006 and one is featured the well known Alton Miller from Detroit ! A new ep with Vernon (Vernon & DaCosta) on strobe music was released the same year: “Dubbing Brothers”.

Shade is currently working hard to produce some new tracks this year.
A mix CD including all the polyphonics catalogue was released for Corona in the Middle-East at beginning of 2007 and a first Polyphonics mix cd should be released soon next year.

In January 2007 he decided to leave France for the sunny city of Barcelona Spain where he has already played in some of the better clubs: Kubik, Fellini, for the Estate party at Mephisto or at the Hotel Omm for lounge sessions…

He also has a residency in his own party every month at the Batofar in Paris with his partner Jef K (Crack & Speed / Silvernetwork) where they invited djs like Dirt Crew, Sasse, Roberto Rodriguez, Geoffroy, Elmar Schubert, Will Deluxe or Spirit Catcher…

News confirming that Shade is regarded as one of the talents of the new house generation. Watch out!

(Some played sets : Paris, Tokyo , Phuket, Bangkok, Singapore, HongKong, Moscow, Dubai, St-Petersburg, Varsovia, Copenhagen, Oslo, Praha, Ibiza, London, Bruxels, Stuttgart, Zurich, Lausanne, Genève, Barcelona, Miami, Marrakech, Liege, Milano, Roma, Amsterdam, Seoul, Barcelona, Istanbul, Malaga, Madrid, or Barhein to name a few…)

Master H aka Hassen Gouaned has been DJing since 1990 at the age of sixteen,
originally playing Soul, Funk, Hip Hop and House every night of the week in the South of
France. His very unique skills took him to play in St Tropez, where he performed in the most
recognized bars and clubs, which rapidly got him to Paris in 1996.
Once there, he held a residency for many years at the well-respected Cabaret and
Queen, alongside a New York residency at Spy Bar and Centro Fly. During these years he
made his first house track with Benjamin Deffe for FUNK LA PLANET "u gave me love", and
managed to seduce the underground house community, DJs and producers as well as a
celebrity A-list of supermodels and superstars. This led him to perform with DJs like Carl
Cox, Roger Sanchez, Kerri Chandler and Louie Vega, as well as fashion soirees from the
likes of Paul Smith and Versace in Paris and New York.
Spinning at one of those parties, he found himself DJing to the French godfather of house
and techno – Laurent Garnier. The F-Communication maestro was overwhelmed by his
vivacious vibe and offered Hassen a summer residency at his club night in Corsica
whereupon a firm friendship flourished. Laurent Garnier then invited Master-H to his
private millennium party where they played disco records back to back all night long.
Performing at the Winter Music Conference in 1998, he caught the attention of Slam and
the Soma team who were immediately struck by his fantastic technical wizardry on the
turntables and also his vibrant, virtuoso presence as he hypnotized the captivated
revelers. Stuart from Slam was so impressed he asked Hassen to DJ at his imminent
wedding party back in Glasgow. With this invitation a meeting was scheduled for him to
visit Soma HQ.
On Hassen's first visit to Glasgow, Soma hooked him up with studio production wizard,
musician and songwriter Andy Gillespie who has been world touring with the legendary
Simple Minds as musical director and keyboard player and who co-wrote their last
album. In 2003, after two years of hard work and after releasing the "Magic K" anthem,
his first album “Thirteen” on Soma records was ready and out in record shops around the
world. Master-H has since been touring the globe, spinning in some of the most
prestigious and underground clubs, and rubbing shoulders with the most influential DJs
and producers. Hassen then created Master-H Unit in 2005, which involves collaborations
with others artists like Ludovic Bors aka Joyful Noise.

SCOTT BRADFORD - LEXICON AVENUE/SHINDIG/FORENSIC RECORDS

EXPLORING the deeper, darker reaches of the house music spectrum, Lexicon Avenue's Scott Bradford has forged a rock-solid reputation as a DJ who never fails to deliver.

From London to Lisbon, Toronto to Tokyo, and South America to Singapore, the affable spinner is regarded as one of the most consistent performers around. Promoter and resident DJ at Shindig, one of the UK's most revered and longest-running nights, his vision and determination ensure the biggest and best names grace the decks on a weekly basis.

Now residing at Newcastle's impressive Digital, the weekly event’s success was instrumental in the venue securing the accolade of being named one of the 15 best clubs in the world by DJ Magazine in February 2007 - with the publication hailing it as "The Fabric of the North".

Widely regarded as both an institution and an inspiration, Shindig remains committed to serving up cutting edge sounds while also providing a platform for the most promising emerging talent.
After beginning his DJing career with slots at parties across the North East of England in 1989, Scott teamed up with friend and fellow turntable talent, Scooby, to launch the night at Club Afrika in 1992.

Its success snowballed and the pair decided to relocate to the city’s Riverside venue (later renamed Foundation). Continuing to go from strength to strength as word spread both home and abroad, it scooped Muzik magazine’s hotly-contested award for Best Underground Club Night in 2001.

By this time, Scott had already begun furthering his standing on the global dance music scene as one-third of the prolific Lexicon Avenue, teaming up with production partners Chris Scott and Mark Armstrong. A formidable force in the development of UK house music since the late 90s, they launched their own label, Forensic, which soon gained immense international respect.
Expertly crafted to create maximum impact on the dancefloor, Lexicon Avenue’s tracks are fixtures in the sets of A-List DJs such as John Digweed, Deep Dish, Satoshi Tomiie, Danny Howells and Sander Kleinenberg.

They’ve been released on some of house music’s most influential imprints - including Yoshitoshi, Saw Recordings, Renaissance, Junior Boy’s Own and Hooj - as well as being licenced to leading compilations such as the Global Underground and Balance series.
Their success means Scott is in demand across the globe, regularly rocking world famous clubs like Pacha in Ibiza, Zouk in Singapore, Trilogy in Dubai, and Womb in Japan. Closer to home, Renaissance and Turnmills welcome him on to the decks on a frequent basis.
Such is Lexicon Avenue’s popularity, the trio were chosen to go head-to-head with Dave Seaman to mix the third installment of the Therapy Sessions compilation series. Released in October 2006 on Seaman’s own Audio Therapy label, they blended techier, electro-influenced cuts from Ame, Plastikman and Nick K, attracting a host of rave reviews.

Their fans had been eagerly waiting a follow up to their debut CD which hit the shelves in 2002 as part of NRK’s critically-acclaimed nite:life series.

In 2003, Scott seized the opportunity to put his club night centre stage with the Adventures of Shindig CD, before returning in 2004 with Forensic Science Exhibit A - featuring the finest selections from his own imprint’s back catalogue alongside a handful of previously unreleased exclusives.

His production work is not just restricted to Lexicon Avenue though and along with production partner Chris Scott he has cast his spell using an almost dizzying array of monikers including Little Green Men, New Phunk Theory, Third Movement, Fishead (with Satoshi Tomiie), and Bush People (with Mark Armstrong and Mara‘s Barry Gilbey). Scott also has a brand new production project with fellow Shindig resident, Mark Lowry.

Scott's and his production partners remix credits read like a Who’s Who of the biggest names in house music with Danny Tenaglia, John Creamer and Stephane K, Dirty Vegas and Science Department all being given their trademark dancefloor-friendly treatment.

Depeche Mode, Chab, Habersham, and Seal can also be added to the impressive list which continues to grow at a rapid rate.
Capitalizing on this popularity, Scott and Mark Armstrong record their own monthly radio shows which are regularly broadcast on stations worldwide including Argentina, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece and Lithuania.

Scott also regularly contributes guest mixes for John Digweed’s Kiss FM show, and in October 2006 he featured alongside Pete Tong on Radio One’s Essential Mix which was broadcast live from Shindig.
A regular on the station over the years, he’s been championed numerous times by Pete Tong, Danny Rampling and Seb Fontaine.

And so there we have it. Over the last decade-and-a-half, through Shindig, Forensic Records, Lexicon Avenue and numerous other production guises, Scott Bradford has carved out an enviable position as a DJ you can trust - a DJ who speaks the language of the dancefloor.

remembering the old days !!!

This can best be described as a mature mix for the more discerning listener smiley There's depth to the tracks and a deep need for escape or coming into being; sumfing like that. It's one of those nights qwhere i could play what I wanted and as I started at 10pm, didn't have to play harder and didn't have to please anyone except me. The total mix runs at almost 4 hours, but this is a taste regardless. I dedicate it to my recently departed friend Talal Al Kateb, may his soul rest in eternal peace. K.

Relocating to Toronto from New York City in 2005, Sadeq had been DJing at numerous New York locations over the few years he was there, playing a deep-tech-electro style of House, BUT with a huge appreciation for anything “electronic”. This led to the fortnightly BALANCE parties at Opium Den, where he introduced up and coming local DJs to the East Village crowd, carrying a variety of different styles of house. He also featured at several other locations in NY, including Sullivan Room (opening for JT Donaldson), Opium Den, Buddha Lounge, Delft, Glass and WST Lounge. And these are the experiences that he now brings to Toronto, where he has already featured in various locations, indluding an event for the Toronto Film Festival, art-studio parties and some of Toronto’s trend-setting venues.
Hailing from the tiny Middle Eastern island of Bahrain, Sadeq’s style keeps developing with the rapid advances in electronic music, but maintaining his faith in upbeat sounds. His experiences in DJing vary from clubs to radio to outdoor events but have mostly been focused on dancing and lounge venues.
You can check out Sadeq’s live and studio sets in lo:big grinown
